We've moved on so far from 'white van man'
It wasn't the most pleasant of terms - was it? Amazingly, it's twenty years since the term was first coined, apparently by The Sunday Times, as a term for self-employed tradespeople, rather than professional freight drivers. It was picked up both on radio and elsewhere in the press, and the term was even used a few years back in a Freight Transport Association road safety campaign.
Here at Thompson and Smith we never bought into the negative image that was too-often presented. To be honest, we've always thought that an immaculately presented white van seems to give a fine impression of a professional service being offered. We're happy to say that many of our customers agree, eager to use such iconic vehicles, and often returning for a replacement as the years pass by.
As we write this blog, we have some cracking white vans ready to enhance your business. Size wise, our current forecourt selection kicks off with a Vauxhall Combo SE 1.3 CDTI which is perfect for zipping about the towns and byways here in Louth and the surrounding areas.
A size or two up, we currently have a pair of superb Vivaro L2 HI 2900 1.6 CDTI 16V LWBs available. These are as sleek and stylish as they are superbly functional - so we don't expect them to be waiting around here for long! We also currently hold a Movano L3 H3 3500 2.3CDTI 125PS FWD Maxi Roof, a truly willing worker of a commercial vehicle.
With the disparaging term rapidly and thankfully increasingly becoming a thing of the past, check out our white commercial vehicles now and see which could best add to the image of your business and do all the jobs you need it to...
