Called Thompson and Smith Ltd to ask if a certain job could be done on my fathers car that our local garage was unable to do and straight away I was impressed with how the gentleman spoke to me over the phone. The car was booked in and the job completed without any fuss. Whilst there my parents who are both in their eighties were treated with the utmost respect and care and all the team including the lady there who helped them deserve a massive thank you! You made what could have been a very stressful day for them completely stress free and from what they told me and from how I was treated when I made the initial call for them I would recommend you extremely highly! Had the absolute pleasure of dealing with this car dealer last week and specifically Neil Findlay. Phoned up on Wednesday and negotiated a great deal on a brand new Vauxhall combo van. Within 24 hours it had been ply lined and taxed ready to pick up. I was even met at the train station as I came from Rochester in Kent. Faultless professionalism. Brilliant car, service and team. Easy to leave a good 5 star review when everything is perfect, even better to do so when there was an issue to resolve.

Was interested in the car, I had been looking at Volvos for around 6 months, and there was no hard sale from the guys. We agreed the price and date, and the car was delivered to my house on schedule (I live the other side of the country to the garage).

Car came and was clean and exactly as described. All paperwork was walked through and car handed over.

Unfortunately after 2 weeks a part broke on a pulley that runs some of the systems - these things can happen, it was one of those things. Discussed with Ian (owner of Thompson and Smith) who responded straight away over the Xmas period, and advised to take it to local RAC Garage first as was under warranty. For some reason RAC said it was not covered by the warranty - despite it being a broken tensioner and it had failed.

Ian stepped in and resolved the issue. I know a lot of garages wouldn't do that, especially for a distance sale the other side of the country. It would be easy to dismiss it or ask I bring the car back to the garage to be fixed locally at a lower cost.

Comms and the responses were first class and I would purchase from T&S again.

We had a spring on the suspension break while we were in Louth tiday. We drove round to Thompson and Smith asking if it was possible to look at our car. At that point we weren't exactly sure what was wrong. They found it was this spring, ordered a new one and fitted it there and then, having checked the price with us first obviously. We were delighted and said yes please, so they went ahead and fitted it. We were so very grateful as we only have the one car. We went to them last year for our car service and were very impressed with them and now wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. I would happily recommend them to anyone who wants good service, friendly staff and competitive prices. We're so pleased we found them and feel very confident with them, thanks everyone.

I did not end up buying the car I was intending on as it was not suitable for what I needed, but tom, my god, what a fabulous sales man, I rang him at 4.30pm on Saturday to come see a car when the garage closes at 5pm, let me test drive and spoke me through information I needed and was not forceful or an aggressive sales man at all....most relaxed I've been about the car buying process was going to this garage and I almost bought the car just because of the service tom provided, thank you tom and good luck selling that amazing car that was in epic condition.

Really excellent service - when we urgently needed a new battery for our van (which we had bought from here) we managed to get down to them after having the van restarted by Green Flag in Louth. They tracked one down and had it delivered within half an hour AND fitted it, as we were concerned with being stranded at home as the battery had simply died for good that afternoon.
