Lincolnshire's Car Dealing Globetrotter

To be honest, Neil, one of the partners here at Thompson & Smith isn’t quite as world famous as the Harlem Globetrotters, and his basketball skills don’t really compare. But this doesn’t stop him seeing many parts of the world in his pursuit of automobile excellence.

Neil’s other recent trip didn’t take him quite so far afield – just the three hundred miles or so from Louth to Essen in Germany and the Techno Classica – known to many as the world’s greatest classic car show. This event provides a showroom for those restoring such vehicles, a forum for manufacturers, and a market for everything surrounding classic cars.

The highlight of the trip for our man was the chance to inspect the legendary 1955 Mercedes 300 SLR which Sir Stirling Moss drove to victory in that year’s Mille Miglia. With the terrific pace notes prepared by co-driver Denis Jenkinson, they took on the legendary 1000 mile endurance course at an average speed close to 100mph. Incidentally, the car’s number of 722 donated their individual start time.

Now, not surprisingly, they wouldn’t let Neil stick this 300 SLR in his boot and bring it home, but that doesn’t stop us having more than fifty terrific and stylish quality used cars for sale here in Lincolnshire. Your choice might be a Vauxhall Insignia (we’re noted for our superb choice of this marque backed up by our wealth of Vauxhall knowledge) or an Audi TT S Line. Perhaps it would be a BMW X1 or a Fiat 500 Lounge. You could be keen to take to Lincolnshire’s lanes in a Land Rover Discovery or a VW Tiguan. These, and so many others, can be found right here.

By the way, we’re not sure where Neil’s next adventure will take him and, apparently, the team aren’t allowed to tell him where to go!
