Classic cars and coffee to raise money for cancer charity
It's a busy week for Thompson and Smith as we take on the challenge of a major fundraising drive for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Members of our team are taking part in three separate fundraisers to raise money for the charity, which provides support for cancer sufferers and their families.
East Coast 10K run
The first event saw our staff members Helena and Danny complete the East Coast 10K run on 13th September in aid of Macmillan. They raised a massive £642 through their online fundraising Just Giving Page, which will contribute towards a hopefully massive grand total.
World's Biggest Coffee Morning
The second event is our World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on 25th September, when we are hoping to exceed last year's impressive total of £582 that we raised for the annual Macmillan event.
Classic cars at Market Rasen Races
Also, we are taking a number of classic cars to the Market Rasen Races on 26th September to raise further funds for Macmillan.
One of the stunning vehicles making the journey to the racetrack is the red Ferrari 328 GTS, a 3.2 litre model, with a luxurious black leather interior. This car has had only three owners since being first registered in Germany on 10th April 1986. You can tell it has been well looked after, as it's as stunning as the day it was first on the road.
Also hitting the road is the 4.0 litre Cerbera Speed 6, with its metallic "Purple Paradise" body and an interior of anthracite/purple hide, stitched in lilac, with luxurious Wilton carpets. With its 17-inch Raceline RL7 alloys, it is a truly spectacular car.
Completing the cavalcade are a white 1977 Porsche 911S Coupe, a white 1990 Fiat 126, a stunning Mercedes 230SL Pagoda (which has been restored to competition standard after belonging to one lady owner in California from 1967-2009), and finally a 1981 Citroen Dyane.
The Racing FX Prelude Raceday and Beer Festival at Market Rasen is a major event, featuring seven races, including the prestigious Prelude Handicap Hurdle and Chase, which spectators can watch while sampling many local beers.
Please help us support Macmillan, enabling people who have been affected by cancer to have a better quality of life.
