As you will be aware, the UK Government recently announced plans for a new four-week lockdown in England as part of the national effort to decrease COVID-19 case numbers. As a result all non–essential retail businesses, including car showrooms will be required to close from Thursday 5th November until Wednesday 2nd December.
I am pleased to inform you that our Service department will remain open as an essential service. If you have a current booking in place for November, please be advised that this will remain as planned.
As we have demonstrated over the past few months, extra measures have been taken at our dealership to ensure we continue to follow Government guidelines. We have added Perspex screens to all customer facing areas, added hand cleansing stations for both customers and staff and customer facing staff all wear masks, as customers are encouraged to do also.

Although the vehicle showroom will temporarily be closed for visiting, our sales team will still be on hand to deal with your enquiries, they can be contacted by telephone on 01507 602222 or email via our Internet Showroom www.thompsonandsmith.co.uk. The Government is allowing us to operate a Click and Collect or nationwide home delivery service for vehicle sales, therefore your new vehicle will be prepared and delivered fully sanitised with social distancing guidelines adhered to.
It is clear that the country faces another challenging period and that we must all work together to beat the virus, however as a business we have learned a great deal since March 23rd and I am confident that we are able to continue to support our customers, whilst ensuring your safety remains our priority.
