After a bank holiday and some nice weather, maybe you’ve been wondering how you’ll fit all that family luggage into the car ahead of the big getaway, then it might be time to upgrade to the new-look Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer.

The estate version of the perennially popular Vauxhall Astra, the Sports Tourer was the UK’s third bestselling estate in 2015 and it’s now been redesigned and rereleased with a wealth of fantastic new features. The new-look, UK-built Astra Sports Tourer is sleeker than its predecessor, and Vauxhall have managed to shave a little weight off it, making it more agile and easier to handle on the open road.

There’s a choice of engines to suit every buyer’s needs, beginning with a 108bhp, 1.6 litre unit which delivers 78.5mpg, and going up to a twin turbo-charged 157bhp, which packs a punch at 67.3mpg.

Inside, the Astra Sports Tourer has all the mod-cons you would expect from a market-leading vehicle like this. Alongside the standard cruise control, air conditioning and tyre pressure monitoring, there’s a seven-inch touchscreen to control the car’s infotainment system, which includes smartphone integration and Bluetooth. If you’re happy to pay a little more for an upgraded interior, you could get heated seats, traffic sign recognition systems and automatic city emergency braking. More impressive still, the car’s OnStar Wi-Fi can support up to seven devices – so no more complaints from the back seat that they’re bored!

And most importantly ahead of the summer holidays, with very little change to the Tourer’s external appearance, Vauxhall have managed to increase the spacious feel inside. There’s 80 litres more boot space than the previous model, taking the total to 540 litres with the seats in place and 1,630 litres altogether. That’s plenty of room for all the luggage you’ll need as you set off on your family holiday!
