Now that Vauxhall's future has been assured by US company GM's sale of the company to PSA, the French company that owns Citroen and Peugeot, new models are beginning to emerge. This is an exciting time for Thompson and Smith as we gear up to take on new models.
With a quarter of all cars in Europe now falling into the SUV category, it's no surprise that a lot of the action is in this sector.
New Grandland X
With the already established Mokka X and the smaller Crossland X, launched last year, there was space in the Vauxhall range for a larger SUV/crossover vehicle. The exciting Grandland X is the answer and you can buy it now.
Taking advantage of PSA's technology, the Grandland X is based on the same platform as the multi-award winning Peugeot 3008 but is distinctly different, retaining a Vauxhall family look.
This means there are now three SUV-style vehicles in the Vauxhall range, complementing the more familiar Astra and Insignia cars. This gives unrivalled choice when it comes to medium-sized family cars from Vauxhall.
The LAV is on the horizon
Waiting in the wings, although we don't have too much information on it at the moment, is a new car that will bring in a whole new abbreviation - a leisure activity vehicle (LAV). This is currently being developed on the same platform as the Grandland X.
Available in either five- or seven-seater versions, this is likely to be a more practical vehicle that can cater for families involved in active leisure pursuits. There will be utility versions too - these are expected to be launched later in 2018.
Why not take a look?
You're always welcome here at Thompson and Smith in Louth. Why not come along and take a look at the new SUVs and find out what else is in store from Vauxhall?
